Some early designs of Sung-won from ATDAO! She’s a loud, brash, chaotic personality so I always try to keep that in mind when I’m drawing her :3 Back when I drew these Sung-wons, her name was still “Noa”, and I still think fondly of that name if I’m being honest ^^; it’s a lovely name but she needed a change!

An early design of Kai! The crinkly face smile is Kai’s specialty, and this drawing is based off one of the outfits I used to wear all the time. There used to be a lot of overlap between my fashion and Kai’s fashion. Freckly nonbinary solidarity

Another early design of Kai! I have a lot of this kid because their hair is very fun to draw haha. They keep it long for most of the story, but cut it into a bob near the end as a symbolic gesture :3
ATDAO GANG
The ATDAO gang hanging out <3 This was a celebratory drawing for either finishing a first draft or winning NaNoWriMo, I don’t remember. Either way it’s cute.
KAI #3
The Rentalcar crew and their early designs! When I initially posted this one, most of the comments were “LOOK AT GRUB” and “WHAT IS THAT CAT” and “I WOULD DIE FOR THAT CREATURE”, which I think is entirely fair. Grub is the star of the show, of course <3 and I think it’s sweet that she’s sitting on Alex’s shoulder here, since it implies Alex eventually gets better at making animals like him haha
GREER SIBLINGS
Sketch of the Greer siblings Tris, Jacob and Becca :3 The relationship between these three is the core of ATDAO and I love all three of them dearly.
NAT AND QUINN
Everyone’s favourite murderers, Nat and Quinn! I think the context for this was “Lloyd wants to ask Nat to cook something for him but Quinn makes it immediately apparent that they’ll kill him if he disturbs Nat” hahaha

One of my earliest attempts at a Monster Mode Nat! I had a lot of fun with this one, even though as far as a monster mode goes he’s still fairly humanoid :3

This is an extremely old drawing now but still one of my favourites of Nat <3 He gets to go on a fun little rampage at the end of book one, which is what this drawing was originally depicting. As the plot stands now, he’s going to look much more monstrous than this in that scene, but I still really like the drawing.

The very first Quinn drawing I made. You’ll notice as the drawings progress their hair gets longer and longer haha. This is the shortest I’ve ever drawn it, I think. The length of Quinn’s hair directly ties to their morality I think

A scene from book two requires Nat and Alex to get all dressed up fancy. I had a lot of fun with both the layers of Nat’s dress and the swirlies of Alex’s suit. Sadly, they both have a terrible time despite their fun outfits, so they destroy the fun outfits once they don’t need them anymore. Much to Quinn’s disappointment

Eventually I’m going to have tarot cards for all the main cast of rentalcar, but so far I only have Quinn done ^^; The Devil represents indulgence, material pleasure, sexuality, short-term gratification, powerful or codependent attachment, oppressive power structures… it’s a very Quinn card

A made a poll to pick who I’d dress up in another character’s clothes and Nat in Quinn clothes won, so here’s that. I think Nat would actually really like this dress if it was black instead of pink, and it would suit him a lot better too :3 the fishnets are not his style at all though HAHAHA
